Why in Dalmatia?

The marasca cherry has grown almost exclusively on the Dalmatian coast for more than 500 years. Today, this sour cherry is also planted in other countries in Southern Europe, but it achieves by far the highest quality in Dalmatia, a fact that has been scientifically confirmed several times.

Dalmatia is considered as one of the most versatile agricultural and biological regions in Europe. After all, the largest part of the 5,835 km long Croatian Adriatic Coast is in Dalmatia as well as the majority of the 1,246 islands and rocky reefs and the Dinaric Alps – Europe’s largest karst landscape.
